Odoru Halloween Night reimagined the world of the picture book Poupelle of Chimney Town as a large-scale seasonal festival that merged Halloween and Bon Odori, the traditional Japanese summer dance celebration. The result was a one-of-a-kind cultural fusion of Western festivity and Japanese communal rhythm.
The venue was illuminated by approximately 8,000 lanterns, forming one of Japan’s largest lantern displays and transforming the hall into a glowing field of light. Within this dreamlike atmosphere, red paper lanterns swayed above the crowd, and music, laughter, and dancing filled the air.
Blending concert performance, choreographed dance, and comedy shows, the festival turned the venue into a nighttime carnival of sound and movement, where both children and adults sang, danced, and celebrated beneath the shimmering lantern sky.
